Overview
The main purpose of the conference is: To interact with and be inspired by models of female Nepali leadership.
This conference will be an opportunity to hear the personal stories of successful Nepali women and learn more about leadership, overcoming gender and societal barriers and career development. It will inspire Nepali women and girls to lead and men to respect female leadership. The conference will aid in showing path for the young women to be focused on their unique qualities and be able to build a successful future.
The conference is mainly targeted for the university students from different faculties like public health, medicine, management and law. Whether at personal life or professional, “Lead like a woman” will empower the university students to walk to the leadership path.
Lead like a woman is a collaborative effort of Birat Nepal Medical Trust and Oxford University Clinical Research Unit, Kathmandu. It is funded by American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene.
Specific Objectives of the Lead like a Woman conference are as follows:
- To hear the personal stories of successful Nepali women
- To promote collaboration and networking between young people (both male and females) and the women leadership roles via ‘meet the mentor’
- To understand the barriers to women in leadership in Nepal and find ways to mitigate those barriers though mutual discussions, shared learning’s and officiel
